It is hot out. And when I say hot, I mean hot. While summer is always an exciting time, it sometimes becomes less exciting when you can barely walk outside without having to change your clothes asap.
Summer is also the time for PTO, half days, long lunches, and early happy hours. Below is the perfect date for those hot summer days when you just don't feel like staying at work.
THE FIRST
The Little Owl: The Little Owl is a quaint little restaurant located in my favorite part of the city, Greenwich Village. It sits on the corner of Bedford Street and Grove Street. Bonus, it is situated beneath the iconic building from Friends. The meatball sliders are to die for and can be paired with any of the fresh summer sides (I recommend the Squash and Blossom). Pair this with a White Sangria or any of the other summer cocktails, and you have yourself a perfect low key late lunch.
THE SECOND
Milk & Cookies Bakery: After your lunch at The Little Owl, stroll over to Milk & Cookies Bakery for the most delicious brownie in the city (believe me, I have tried a lot!). Nothing completes a great meal like the perfect dessert. I just found out that they recently introduced a cookie called "Bacon Smack!" How about you let me know if it's as good as it sounds?
THE THIRD
Famous Apartment Tour: Even if you are from NYC (and especially if you're not), it is always fun to set eyes on famous apartment buildings from tv and movies. Since you are right around the corner, head over to see Carrie Bradshaw's apartment building from Sex and the City, located at 66 Perry Street, between Bleeker and 4th. To be fair, there is not much to see but the oh-so-famous stoop (Big, swoon) but you can take the obligatory photo and show your friends. If you are up for an adventure, and a long afternoon, try and visit the other three famous apartments listed here (you already covered Monica Geller's).
